Compiling the Сoncise Lezghi-Russian Dictionary of Synonyms

Abstract: The aim of the article is to substantiate the theoretical and methodological basis of LezghiRussian dictionary of synonyms and to present its trial entries.Methods. When compiling the dictionary, the authors used the componental and definition analysis, the comparative method, etc.Results and conclusions. The article specifies the issues of the macrostructure of the Lezghi-Russian dictionary of synonyms (the addressee, aim and objectives of the dictionary, selection of the vocabulary, principles of the lexicographic description of the vocabulary units), outlines its microstructure and gives a number of trial dictionary entries.
