The Problem of Expressing the Diminutivity in Russian and the Rutul Language

Abstract: The aim of the study was to identify similar and contrasting features in the implementation of the semantics of diminutives in the compared languages.Methods. In the work on the article, descriptive and comparative methods of research were used.Results. The study revealed that the Russian language is dominated by morphological diminutive education, and in the Rutul language – lexical and semantic.Summary. The prevalence of lexical-semantic ways of implementing the semantics of diminutives in Rutul language due to the need to fill the lack of morphological diminutive formations in the Rutul language.
