Different Understanding of the Artistic Truth Category in the American Romanticists’ Works

Abstract: Aim. The authors of the article attempt to determine the different understanding of the category of artistic truth in the works of American novelists of the ХIХ century, the continuity of traditions, method, skill and stylistic originality of specific literary phenomena in American prose.Methods. Comparative-historical method, description, analysis, generalization of the material.Conclusions. Different understanding of the category of artistic truth by American romantics, of course, takes place in modern critical literature.
