Features of Pragmatic and Stylistic Relations in the Genre of University Lecture in Modern English

Abstract: The article analyses justification of the relevance of the study of the academic genre of lecture from the perspective of pragmastilistics.Methods. Hypothetical-deductive, method of conducting pragmalin-guistic analysis, method of modified content analysis.Results. In the texts of the lectures there are strategies such as a welcome strategy, a strategy of acquaintance with the audience, a strategy for planning a lecture, a strategy for determining and explaining, and a number of others.Conclusions. The genre of the lecture is characterized by pronounced pragmastilistic relations, which are explained by direct contact between the lec-turer and the students.
