Concentration of goods traffic in Spanish ports during the period 2000-2009

Abstract: This paper has as object analyze the concentration of the big groups of goods dealt in the different Spanish ports during the period 2000 2009, indicating the most relevant economic aspects that have provoked that certain ports have increased or diminished the above mentioned concentration. The vulnerability that great number of ports present before the crisis, is intimately related to the lack of specialization in his facilities, for what a determinant factor to observing in order an improvement of the maritime and port traffic, is the need of specialization of the systems of maritime transport.
