Abstract: The present study aimed to investigate the perceptions of 3-6 years old pre-school children on waterscapes. Fourty six children that attended a kindergarten in Trabzon, Turkey participated in the study. After the children were provided with paints and drawing papers, they were asked to paint a picture about the water. Conducted analyses demonstrated that the children mostly associated the concept of water with the sea. Furthermore, streams, lakes, pools, fountains were depicted. As a result of the study, it was determined that water is significant game tool for children and it has been determined that the places to be designed for children should be provided with water.
