Abstract: Information technology has truly revolutionized traditional education systems in terms of multimedia approach, collaborative learning, online education, distance learning, e-learning, virtual learning. Information technology applications are frequently used in academic institutions and organizations, which facilitates the learning and teaching process. These technologies also support individuals in developing their writing, reading, speaking and listening skills. The use of information technology in educational administration provides many advantages to educational institutions. Information technology can be used to enhance the construction and sharing of knowledge, increase access to externally available information, and facilitate the display of information. When information technology is examined in terms of the individual technologies themselves, in addition to their interaction with educational management models, an approach to what constitutes alternative applications of information technology in educational management begins to emerge. However, information technology is not proposed as the only solution to educational problems. Indeed, many problems in education are often social rather than learning-related. Nevertheless, information technology can enable the effective implementation of collaborative, cognitive and constructive educational management. In this study, the place, importance and future of information technology in educational management are examined. In this context, information about information technologies, information systems and educational management is also given.
