Abstract:
Events that deeply affect humanity, such as war and natural disasters, which have been going on for years and cause great destruction, enabled societies to help each other. However, it was necessary to institutionalize to provide effective cooperation. For this reason, the Red Cross was established in Europe and then an institution like the Red Cross was constituted in the Ottoman Empire. This institution’s name is Red Crescent. After the declaration of the Second Constitutional, it started to operate outside of Istanbul. It helped the people of state who injured in war and forced to emigrate, with its support both in the First World War and during the National Movement. We may reach the records of the Red Crescent in Adana branch with the period of the first world war and we may learn information about Red Crescent as Seventh Adana-Konya Emergency Medicine Service during the National Movement. Institutional Information about Red Crescent may be reached since the first world war. This article aims to present information about medicine activities, the administrative committee and financial income of Seventh Adana-Konya Emergency Medicine Service during the period of the National Movement and The Republican Period, by making use of the main sources such as Red Crescent Journal and archive of Red Crescent.
