Abstract: Soap and cosmetic products have been used for cleaning, beauty, care, treatment and management of epidemic diseases since ancient times. Religious ceremonies, war preparations, and protection from the cold have had significant effects in most of the civilizations. Depending on the urban lifestyle, changing needs, fashion industry, social media and developing technology, consumer demands have changed and expectations have increased. In this context, many innovations have been made in the cosmetics and soap industry, and products that meet different needs have been developed by product specialists with developing scientific studies. In this study, the change of soap and cosmetic products from past to present and their use by people throughout history were evaluated. In the study method, a literature research that examines the historical development and change of soap and cosmetic products was used. In the introduction and development sections, information about its historical adventure and current practices were shared. In the conclusion part, information and predictions about the current and future situation of cosmetic and soap products in line with new trends and consumer expectations are mentioned..
