Abstract:
Digital transformation around the world has direct implications for public policies, including inclusive social development policies, and will determine the future of social protection. The high levels of vulnerability in Latin America and the Caribbean pose challenges in facing this digitalization process, as they can increase inequality and current levels of social exclusion. This document presents a definition of digital inclusion and its link with inclusive social development in the region. It also includes elements for understanding how digitalization develops and affects social protection systems and examines the new risks posed by digital transformation, along with opportunities to more effectively generate social entitlements.
