Abstract: This manual describes the scope of the Caribbean Information System for Economic and Social Planning (CARISPLAN) and identifies the required content of abstracts to be included in this system. The concept of an "abstract" is defined and various types explained. Characteristics and content of an abstract are outlined and guidelines for the preparation of abstracts for the CARISPLAN system are presented.
