Abstract:
Based on data from 31 provinces in China from 2010 to 2022, this study analyzes the impact of regional digital and intelligent empowerment on industrial upgrading against the backdrop of population aging. Empirical results confirm that digital and intelligent empowerment can promote industrial upgrading; population aging plays a moderating role in the relationship between regional digital and intelligent empowerment and industrial upgrading; the level of technological innovation serves as a mediating factor in this relationship; and the impact of digital and intelligent empowerment on industrial upgrading varies across different regions.
