Abstract:
•Low-cost carriers’ (LCCs) network has been shifting westward.•LCCs launched long-haul routes by establishing secondary bases for transit.•LCCs slowed down expansion coverage but enhanced the resilience within the networks.•LCCs responded and adapted to high-speed rail (HSR) construction.•Airport capacity, tourists, and population difference affected the expansion of LCCs’ networks.
