Abstract:
The European Union has set ambitious objectives for the recovery rates of end-of life vehicles (ELVs). The directive 2000/53/CE (DIR, 2000) states that by 1st January 2015 at least 95% of the mass of an ELV must be reused and recovered, of which a maximum of 10% should be in the form of energy.
