Uncertainty-oriented dynamic topology optimization for cross-scale concurrent design considering improved size-controlling strategy

Abstract: In this paper, a cross-scale dynamic uncertainty topology optimization model considering minimum length scale control is proposed. The problem of optimizing the topology layout of the cross-scale structure considering steady-state dynamic performance and eigenfrequency characteristics is investigated. Non-probabilistic reliability and robustness constraints are introduced in the optimization model to enhance the ability of the structure to cope with the disturbance of uncertainty factors. Furthermore, a modification to the density-projection-based minimum length scale control method is proposed to avoid possible control failures of the original method. Lastly, three examples are presented to illustrate the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed methodology. The emphases of this work are an improvement of density projection length scale control method and the construction of a cross-scale steady-state dynamic topology optimization procedure considering non-probabilistic uncertainty constraints.
