On the reliability of stochastic systems: a comment
G. A. Whitmore
Statistics & Probability Letters, 1990, vol. 10, issue 1, 65-67
Abstract:
Basu and Ebrahimi (1983) describe a reliability model based on the first crossing time of two independent Wiener diffusion processes that represent strength and stress processes of a component. This comment gives an explicit form for their reliability function and discusses some practical aspects and extensions of their reliability model.
