A uniform strong law of large numbers for U-statistics with application to transforming to near symmetry

In-Kwon Yeo and Richard A. Johnson

Statistics & Probability Letters, 2001, vol. 51, issue 1, 63-69

Abstract: This paper studies the almost sure convergence of U-statistics which depend on a parameter. We give a set of sufficient conditions for uniform convergence, in the parameter, with probability one. An example of selecting a transformation to near symmetry illustrates how the result may be applied to statistical problems.
