Measuring the impact of telecommunication services on rural and remote communities

Abstract: The potential benefits that telecommunication services bring to rural and remote communities are generally perceived as beneficial though difficult to ascertain. This article reviews the rationale and elements for measuring the impact of telecommunication services on rural and remote communities, and proposes some concrete ways forward based on current practice.
