The unification of Germany and the consequences for patent information

Josef Stillger

World Patent Information, 1992, vol. 14, issue 1, 21-25

Abstract: The problems arising from the closing of the GDR patent office following unification and the taking over of its functions by the German Patent Office, formerly the FRG office, are described. The new organisation of the Berlin sub-office and the tasks undertaken by the former GDR office are outlined and the differences between the patent information systems of the former GDR and FRG offices, and the problems these raise following integration, are described.
