Patent images on CD-ROM: Numeric vs classified sets

Abstract: The costs of recording U.S. patents on CD-ROMs as numeric sets or classified sets (by class, technology group or subclass) are analysed and compared. The advantages and disadvantages of the two types of sets, both for searching and document reproduction, are discussed.
