The first eight years, A success --The Chinese patent system enters a new developing stage

Abstract: From 1 April 1985 to 31 March 1993, the Chinese Patent Office accepted 302,320 patent applications in total, among which 41,838 (13.8%) were from outside China. In the same period, 136,680 patent rights were granted and 14,623 (10.7%) of the patentees were from overseas. The Chinese patent system has been functioning successfully so far. The entering into force of the revised Lawnese Patent Law since 1993 marks a new era in the history of Chinese patent system.
