Experience of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property in the production of patent information on CD-ROM, and its disclosure policy

World Patent Information, 1996, vol. 18, issue 1, 9-13
Abstract:
The author comments on a number of aspects of the developments that have taken place in the Mexican Industrial Property Office (IMPI) with respect to the publication of patent information on compact disc, a format that in recent years has been the centre of attention for various industrial property offices. The experience that IMPI has had is twofold, deriving on the one hand from the bibliographic reference disc called CD-BANAPA, and on the other from CD-ESPACE MEXICO, the latter being a pilot disc forming part of the ESPACE family produced in cooperation with the European Patent Office. Each of the two products has revealed very special characteristics in the course of its development, which are discussed in very general terms.
