Abstract:
After a first survey in 1992, another inquiry was made in 1994 amongst industrial applicants and professional representatives for comparison, and to monitor and evaluate any fluctuation in search quality. The response rate was 46% (47.3% in 1992). The general satisfaction level on quality, i.e. the sum of "good" and "satisfactory" responses, remains very high at 94.7% (93.6%). The important aspect of the appropriate coverage of the application by the cited documents was rated as "good" by 47.2% (39.6%) of respondents, as "satisfactory" by 43.3% (50.4%) and as "poor" by 1.4% (2.8%). A positive trend was also noted with regard to non-patent literature.
