Patent monitoring for SMEs: the Lorraine experience. Prospects for the Internet
Marc Glodkowski
World Patent Information, 1999, vol. 21, issue 1, 31-33
Abstract:
A report in 1995 showed that few SMEs in the Lorraine prefecture included patents in their technology monitoring. The initiatives of INPI to encourage greater use of patents in this context are described, primarily through regional technology centres, which have good knowledge of the firms in their technological area. Two examples of how this is put into practice are given, as well as some thoughts on the effect of having European patents on the Internet on these services.
