Abstract:
The need for nature and benefits of the project to establish WIPONET, a worldwide electronic information network for intellectual property matters are described. The objective of WIPONET is to link World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Intellectual Property (IP) Offices around the world, e.g., for mutual exchange of data, assistance in electronic filing capability, especially in developing countries, and improved information dissemination. WIPONET will thus provide a platform for national and regional Intellectual Property Digital Libraries (IPDLs).
