World Patent Information, 1984, vol. 6, issue 1, 4-11
Abstract:
The paper outlines the problems inherent to the patenting of inventions in which microorganisms are involved. It provides a concise survey of the occurrence of microorganisms, the way in which they are describe, identified and stored. Mention is made of the reasons why a patent office sometimes requires that microorganisms be deposited and made available. Some particulars follow about the institutions that have to act as depositories and suppliers of microorganisms and the manner in which these functions are performed.
