Application of the Analysis Cluster in the economic environment. A study of the neighborhoods of Donostia

Abstract: [EN] We try to study the quality of life in Donostia, in the sense that we want to study the relationship that can exist among those inhabitants of the housings and the structure of the same ones. We will attempt to look for a link among inhabitant's type, housing type and homogeneous areas of Donostia, using various techniques in Multivariate analysis. We will use, for example, the Analysis of Principal Components, that is a technique of reduction of the dimensionality of a group of continuous variables, to be able to pick up in few factors or components, most of the information of those variables. Finally, we will apply the Fuzzy Clustering analysis to form the groups of homogeneous neighborhoods, where the main difference resides in that the Fuzzy method allows for different degrees of association from a neighborhood to diverse groups, while the method Cluster is less flexible, in the sense that a neighborhood belongs or not to a group.
