Economy and Forecasting, 2001, issue 4, 102-112
Abstract:
The article deals with the problems of the formation of a multilateral regulatory system for international investments. It analyzes the factors, which promote or inhibit the conclusion of an international agreement in this area. Multilateral approach to investment regulation is shown as preferable to bilateral approach. Common points and divergences in the strategies of developed and less developed countries as regards globalization in investment activities are given coverage. It is proved that the key role in international investment regulation is played by the World Trade Organization. The article contains proposals concerning the need for national investment policy to take into account the growing trend of multilateral international investment regulation.
