Abstract:
This paper is aimed to assess the causal link between the public debt and the Moroccan economic growth through the implementation of a set of econometric tests. To do this, we use the causality test of Granger to determine the causation between the public debt and the Moroccan economic growth. The application of this approach on Moroccan data leads us to deduct that there is not a causality between the public debt and the Moroccan economic growth, it can be justified by the public loans which are intended to finance more other sectors than the agriculture, which is considered as the main contributor in a favorable economic growth Keywords : Public debt, Economic growth, Causality, Moroccan Economy
