Abstract:
The intention of this article is to analyse the main aspects of contamination in the province of Guipúzcoa. After a brief overview of the influence of industrial atmospheric emissions in population centres, the problem of solid urban wastes is considered and the present situation of existing treatment plants within the territory. Next, results are given of the characterisation and classification study of solid waste generated by industry in Guipúzcoa and its distribution according to Industrial Sector and Regions. Likewise, a similar distribution is made for industrial waste, indicating its effects on the quality of rivers of the province. Finally, the General Programmes for the treatment and removal of the above-mentioned wastes are dealt with.
