Abstract: This article studies the validity of the Product Life Cycle to explain the evolution of the Basque economy. Thus, it has been divided into thirteen sectors and an analysis has been made in accordance with the methodology used by Audretsch for companies in the U.S.A. The results indicate that the theory explains the behaviour of some sectors, while the explanatory variables operate in accordance with expectations except for those containing R It can be concluded that the entire economy can be explained by various theories, each of which explains a part of the whole.
