Abstract: Given the renewed importance of patents at a world level and the possibility offered by new computer software, this article presents valuable statistical tables prepared from information on patents in Spain, limited to the Basque region. The information covers technology patented from 1979 to 1991 and reflects the inventive and innovative dynamism of the industrial sectors and companies in the region.
