Abstract:
The Spanish case offers a particularly interesting opportunity to consider the innovative policies of a country that, after great difficulties, is becoming competitive in the machine tool world market. Firms in the Basque Country, and Spanish companies as a whole, are facin the actual economic internationalization process in a situation of inferiority: small, size, weakness of externas commercial networks, low R$D, and so on. Within such a national and local situation, Basque machine tool shows some peculiar characteristics in the internacional context of this industry that are worthwhile mentioning.
