Abstract:
Part-time work is strongly introduced in the Netherlands, and this is precisely one of the clues of the favourable employment development of this country in comparison with the European average. Non-discrimination between part-time and full-time workers as well as a progressive tax system can account for the success of this type of work, but the real answer is to be found in the attitude of managers and employees in favour of part-time work.
