Abstract:
The article begins with a review of the loyalty and expertness principles and the regulation of the fiduciary duty. It states that the pension systems can take into account the environmental, social and governance values of the members and the society, at large. The social responsible investment (SRI) is the practical way of implementing this. The investment in infrastructure is the most common way to invest in the real economy within the financial requirements of the schemes. Finally there is an overview of the initiatives in the financial crisis affecting the investments and the demands in the Basque country to fund the working capital of the SMEs companies.
