Abstract: Legal retirement age should be adapted to biological one. In this context, the application of principle of prolonging working life means that legislation has to establish mechanisms to facilitate senior workers to remain into the labor market, at least until their legal retirement age, even more when they chose it. Figures such as active or flexible retirement must be rethought in order to establish a new framework. A new contract (a compatibility contract) which promotes the prolongation of labor life could be a fundamental solution to this new social reality.
