Introduction to the Research Companion to Construction Economics
George Ofori
Chapter 1 in Research Companion to Construction Economics, 2022, pp 1-17 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Construction Economics seeks to apply the principles of Economics to the construction industry, the construction company and the construction project. The subject is relatively underdeveloped, and many of its aspects are not yet settled. The subject needs to be developed, in order to build it up to a legitimate field of knowledge. This chapter introduces a contribution to the effort to develop the field of knowledge of Construction Economics. It explains the rationale for the book, the aim and objectives, the nature of the component chapters of the book, and the process of developing the book. Synopses of the chapters are next presented. A short conclusion ends the chapter.
