Chapter 1 in A Guide to Islamic Asset Management, 2021, pp 1-38 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Currently, there is insignificant academic research on Islamic asset management, since research to date focuses mainly on single asset classes excluding multi-asset class portfolios. While such literature is useful to understand the performance and risk characteristics of individual asset categories (in particular equity, but also fixed income), real-world investing is more complicated. The current literature on Islamic asset management is examined to create a foundation for further analysis of multi-asset portfolios and observe the gaps needed to be filled.
