Cultural differences

Satu Teerikangas

Chapter 37 in Elgar Encyclopedia of Mergers and Acquisitions, 2026, pp 95-96 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: The chapter investigates the complexities of cultural differences in markers and acquisitions (M&As), encompassing organizational, national, regional, professional and industrial levels. It critiques the overuse of frameworks like Hofstede's dimensions and emphasizes the importance of recognizing fragmented and multi-level cultural realities in organizations. Greater research into unexamined cultural dimensions and systemic diversity in M&As is recommended to address gaps in current understanding.
