Abstract: This chapter examines some of the forces that have undermined the original aim of environmental accounting. It employs agonistic, postmodern and post-structural arguments to investigate the claims of weak ontology in an environmental context. The objective is to develop a more robust ontological realism connecting people with the cosmos.
