Chapter 1 in The Legal Foundations of Micro-Institutional Performance, 2022, pp 9-36 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
In this chapter we will work to provide a solid base for working with and understanding the institutional variable and the issue of human interdependence. We start with a brief overview of institutions and institutional analysis in the Great Lakes tradition with its focus on human interdependence before introducing a useful taxonomy for talking about institutions moving forward. We conclude the chapter with further discussion of human interdependence and how it might be used as the unit of observation for our analysis.
