Uber versus drivers
.
Chapter 5 in The Legal Foundations of Micro-Institutional Performance, 2022, pp 118-124 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The case of Uber examines the interdependence involved in a dispute between the ride-sharing company Uber and the drivers it employs. We apply the Legal-Economic Performance framework to the issue of driver classification (and subsequent rights and duties) in various legal contexts. A table working through the framework, including interdependence, institutional structure and performance considerations, is provided.
