Chapter 17 in Handbook on Energy and Economic Growth, 2024, pp 359-376 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This study provides a critical survey on the relationship between several energy-related series and the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of the research is to provide a comprehensive description of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on energy, electricity, and waste management. This literature overview helps to shed light on the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on each sector. Therefore, this study aims to represent a footprint of the state of the art, stimulating the debate on energy series and economic growth in light of the recent pandemic.
