Arbitraging information using windows of opportunity

.

Chapter 6 in The Entrepreneurial Solution to Poverty and the Science of What is Possible, 2022, pp 106-112 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: One of the most under-utilized means of earning a profit is to discover a business concept, tie it up in a pending purchase and then sell it to someone else, thereby earning a middle-man profit. This arbitrage maneuver depends on being able to first recognize a profitable opportunity for someone else's eventual use. In effect, instead of consummating a sale, an entrepreneur negotiates for a window of opportunity, all of which will be financed through an eventual sale, which may be pre-negotiated (Fiet, 2020). Given the right circumstances, all that will be exchanged by the middle man will be information, which makes it a form of informational economics.
