Abstract: Directive 2008/48/EC of 23 April 2008 on credit agreements for consumers and repealing Council Directive 87/102/EEC (the CCD) aims to harmonise, at the European level, the national provisions applying to consumer credit and to ensure a higher level of consumer protection by focusing on transparency and consumer rights.
