Abstract:
Abstract: In this chapter we discuss the research on factors that influence team effectiveness, especially as it relates to team creativity and innovation. Team creativity is particularly important for research teams, and ensuring effective performance is critical for the research endeavor. We discuss research on trust, psychological safety, communication, and conflict in relation to team creativity and outcomes. Further, we provide some personal insights and advice grounded in research on how to facilitate effective creative team operations, especially in interdisciplinary research teams.
