Abstract: The idea of productivity is frequently mentioned in the literature on life cycle sustainability assessment and is seen as a crucial criterion for determining a process's overall level of sustainability from an environmental, economic, and social viewpoint. In related recommendations and research, it is also suggested as an impact category, notably in the economic and social elements of life cycle sustainability evaluation. The term productivity is used in the literature on life cycle sustainability assessment to refer to many ideas and information. It first refers to the standard of a procedure or activity that is being assessed in terms of the effectiveness of its output. Second, the term “productivity” is used as a separate criterion in the literature, primarily in the context of “life cycle costing,” or so-called “Economic Life Cycle Assessment” (Ec-LCA) as well as “Social Life Cycle Assessment” (S-LCA).
