Abstract: The stakeholder category “society” is one of the fundamental building blocks for the application of Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA). In this context, the term society is used to identify the impacts or opportunities that refer to the overall population or the larger societal structure within which a company or product operates. The society stakeholder category is highly important in the context of S-LCA as it seeks to comprehensively capture and analyze the potential impacts that a specific product, process, or organization may exert on the larger community or society as a whole. This broader perspective increases the difficulty in data collection, but allows for a more comprehensive evaluation of the social implications associated with the life cycle of the product or organization under analysis.
