Abstract: Stakeholder analysis is fundamental for transparent and inclusive decision-making. By identifying and prioritizing stakeholders based on their influence and interest, researchers can engage them effectively, mitigating conflicts and maximizing benefits. A stakeholder analysis is based on the three steps of stakeholder identification, categorization, and investigation of relationships between stakeholders. These three steps can be performed using various methodological techniques. Stakeholder engagement remains vital for corporate value creation and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, fostering transparency and accountability. Involving stakeholders is fundamental in a Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA) study in order to assess local impacts along the life cycle of products and services. The stakeholder categories recommended by the UNEP Guidelines are workers, consumers, local communities, society, children, and other value chain actors. Participatory approaches can support and enhance S-LCA studies, considering local knowledge and relevant impact categories.
