Abstract: Health and safety refers to a set of actions that aims to maintain and protect the physical and mental well-being of people in various contexts. Occupational safety and health is a science that comprises the initiatives an organization carries out to promote the workers’ health and well-being, protecting them from risks and accidents at the workplace. An Occupational Safety and Health Management System is an approach that brings different stakeholders together to define, monitor, assess, and improve the performance in risk and accident prevention and management in the workplace. Because it is a core matter, health and safety is addressed as an impact to be evaluated in both Life Cycle Assessment and Social Life Cycle Assessment approaches.
